PSA-TEC 2012 wraps winning conference

O'Mara - Monday May 21, 2012PSA-TEC wrapped up its 2012 conference and educational sessions in Denver with some 800 registered guests and more exhibitors than ever before in the history of its event. With some 50-plus educational sessions, including certification classes, there was no shortage of cutting-edge topics that kept rooms packed with attendees. From sessions with top-level executives on mergers and acquisitions, security as a service, cloud computing and more, integrators set their sights on the future of the industry at the show, which was held in Westminster, Colo., just steps away from PSA Security Network headquarters. It was a first, and definitely not the last, as SD&I magazine presented its inaugural Fast50 awards and best practices celebration today during ISC West 2012 at the Special Events Stage. The crowd included manufacturers, distributors, the advisory board members, program endorsees and others who were proof positive that the time had come for the program and the unveiling of the first ever ranking of America’s Fastest Growing Systems Integrators. AMAG continues mission to integrate

O'Mara - Tuesday March 6, 2012AMAG Technology Inc., Torrance, Calif., kicked off its 11 th Annual Engineering Symposium in Florida with new consultant-specifier attendees and vendor partners. The event is the largest to date, said Robert Sawyer, president and CEO of the company in his opening address. “Our direct customers are our integrators—that’s who we sell to—and we don’t ever sell to the end user. Our goal is exceptional customer service to all of our customers,” he said. BICSI is hot; the weather, not so much

O'Mara - Monday February 13, 2012Arriving in Orlando late yesterday and yearning for warm weather, I was greeted by a cold slap in the face—30 degrees in what is generally known as sunny and warm Florida. Coming in on the tail end of a cold snap, the sun revisited today and warm temperatures began to rebound to the norm.
